Tobasco Contemporary

Yes, there really is a town called Tabasco in the Catskills! This beautifully landscaped 30-acre property boasted meticulously groomed fields, groves of mature nut trees, fruit orchards, gardens, ponds, and a majestic 200-year-old barn. The owner envisioned a contemporary version of the barn's open lofts, vaulting spaces, and exposed structural elements, tucked into the landscape. Utilizing contemporary glass and steel to harmonize with wood and stone, we created a formal entry and media room overlooking a spacious open kitchen, dining and entertainment area with a loft/barn aesthetic. Off the main space are two private bedroom suites and a guest bathroom. We also reconditioned the existing 19th century barn to create a light-filled painting studio and guest suite with dreamy views.
