Woodland Valley Addition

This turn of the century classic came with a design challenge. The house is set into a steep hillside overlooking a tumbling stream. The clients wanted more space, but where? Our solution: a cantilevered addition. The light-filled common room has a cathedral ceiling, pickled pine walls, and big custom windows overlooking a swimming pond with reflections of Romer Mountain. We also expanded the kitchen, giving it a modern farmhouse feel, and added a practical mudroom entryway with stairs leading down to an expanded, walk-out basement that houses a woodshop and a playroom with a view.
