Adirondack Renovation

This young family bought a fixer-upper on a lovely wooded lot in Woodland Valley and wanted to give it a classic Adirondack look. We gave the entry a facelift with decorative creek stone and a custom door built by local craftsmen.

Inside, we raised the living room ceiling, with exposed beams, stained pine, antler light fixtures, and other Adirondack-style details. The window treatments have an Arts and Crafts flair, and we rebuilt the stone fireplace to make it more energy efficient. We also opened up the floor plan to accommodate bedrooms for two growing boys.

Finally, we landscaped the entire property to bring the main house, guest house, outbuildings, and pool into harmony with the rustic surround.
